Undaunted: A Dancer’s Journey to Live
Korinn Mowrey, founder of Makin' Waves in Health and Fitness and creator of Microflex therapy, stars in this one-woman show about the power of intention. Undaunted: A Dancer's Journey to Live is about the art of manifestation. Korinn takes the audience through her journey as a successful professional dancer and her experience battling addiction while continually leading a life of love and laughter. Through stories of wild adventures, dance, and ever-present humor, Korinn theatrically shares her life journey, stressing the impact of fast-food genocide upon the mental stability of today's society. Korinn explains that by implementing the power of intention into one's life and in consuming nutrient-rich whole food, every individual has the power to heal from addictions, grow from their struggles, and manifest desires into dreams!
Five stars in the sky for this one:
A Dancer's Journey to Live!
What a wow-worthy performance to see A Dancer's Journey to Live on stage on Thursday, April 25th. This particular showing was for a charter high school and was specially crafted by Korinn Mowrey for a younger audience as opposed to her past performances for the general public. The students were enraptured by this artful take on controversial and sensitive subiects and were given an exercise for the final portion of the event which allowed them to explore what they'd learned through this educational journey. Having seen more than one version of A Dancer's Journey to Live, I wasn't sure what to expect. Mowrey has always shown her ability to engage with every audience in a unique way- every performance is new and exciting and touches on different information each time. For this reason alone recommend buying tickets more than once for the full experience. But there was something exceedingly special about the showing. The way the spring sunlight filtered in the windows to the cabin-aesthetic student theater, and seeing the students' faces as they absorbed Mowrey's story and reflected on how it is connected to their own lives in one way or another... this really stuck with me. Mowrey touches on many difficult topics in her performance as a way to drive in one very simple, yet crucially important point: everyone can succeed. She dances her way through sorrow and shame and self- reflection and shines in every way. Then she pulls it all together through science-based research and logic and backs up the whole program with years of study of the human brain and its relationship to...the very choices we make. Would you like to feel inspired like I know all of these students felt that day and how I continue to feel as I sit in the audience again and again? Your ability to make the short journey out to see this show will keep you going for the rest of your journey. Five stars to this and forever will it stay in my heart.
